Continuing from the NGC 4594 example above, load the fit of NGC 4594 into XIMGFIT. Then type rmsrc 3 0.5 test.fits. This will remove source 3 from the original image and save the result to test.fits. To then remove additional sources, it is easiest to use the script remove_src.sh, i.e., remove_src.sh n4594_pspc_0.5-2.0kev_fit.ximg 5 0.5 test.fits test2.fits. The original image and images with sources 2 and 5 removed are shown in Figure 4.
